Excellence in Education

Every year, OSSTF District 8 partners with the Avon Maitland District School Board to host the Excellence in Education Awards and banquet. These awards honour students, teachers, support staff, and community members for their service and dedication to excellence. A different musical act entertains the crowd before dinner every year, and this year, The Festival Youth Vocal Jazz Ensemble sand a number of lively jazz tunes (see post below). Every school showcases art and student projects as well.

On Time Constitutional Amendments

Please find attached all on-time proposed amendments to the District 8 Constitution. These resolutions will come to the floor for debate between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the May 16 Annual General Meeting, Seaforth and District Community Centre.

On Saturday, April 21, several OSSTF members rode a bus to Toronto to join 10,000 plus people representing a variety of Labour groups to send a message to Dalton McGuinty that the Liberal proposed budget is deeply flawed.
